Dinner in the Streets
Michael’s Restaurant is humbly honored to partner with Salvation Army of Greater Birmingham to deliver a fine dining experience in this year’s Dinner in the Streets. This community dining event supports the daily programs of The Salvation Army: feeding, clothing & sheltering. This exciting event will be held in the courtyard of Michael’s restaurant. Their goal is to raise awareness for our hungry neighbors and to raise funds to help us feed those that need our help right here in Birmingham. A special reception will be held at the rooftop area, including musical performances by international touring and recording artist Clinton Babers.
History of Dinner in the Streets
Community dining and fellowship returns to Birmingham after a nearly three-year hiatus. Dinner in the Streets, sponsored by The Salvation Army Greater Birmingham’s Echelon Junior Advisory Board, will return under the lights of The Magic City, Tuesday, August 30, 2022, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Dinner in the streets first offered its “open-air” dining experience to neighbors in 2018, with the inaugural event being held in the historic Avondale community. In 2019, the event, which raises awareness about the daily programs offered at The Center of Hope, relocated to First Avenue South, between 14th and 16th Streets South, adjacent Railroad Park and Regions Field.
